What Happens After Clearing AIBE 21

Clearing the AIBE is what allows a law graduate to actually practise in Indian courts. Once the result is declared, qualified candidates become eligible to apply for the Certificate of Practice (CoP) through their respective State Bar Council. The CoP is usually issued two to three months after the result is announced. Candidates should keep tracking updates from their State Bar Council for the exact process and timeline in their state.

What If You Have Not Qualified

Not clearing AIBE 21 is not the end of the road. The exam is held twice a year, and BCI is expected to open registrations for AIBE 22 around September 2026, with the exam likely to be conducted in November or December 2026. Candidates who are not satisfied with their result also have the option of applying for OMR revaluation by paying a fee of Rs. 500 once the window opens.

A Quick Note for Judiciary Aspirants

Many judiciary aspirants clear AIBE alongside their preparation for state judicial services, since both require a strong grip on the same core subjects such as CrPC, IPC, Evidence Act, and the newer BNS, BNSS, and BSA. If you are preparing for the Civil Judge Exam, PCS J Exam, or APO Exam and also plan to sit for AIBE, it helps to build one strong base in these laws rather than studying them separately for each exam. At Aashayein Judiciary, Nitesh Sir's mentorship focuses on exactly this kind of concept clarity, so that whether it is a bar exam or a judiciary exam, your fundamentals do not change.
